These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Kamen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fabricio Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kamen closes the distance and pushes Velasquez back into the cage.
Kamen lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Velasquez backwards.
Velasquez fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Velasquez tries to pull guard but Kamen forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Charles Kamen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabricio Velasquez.
A nice left hand lands by Kamen.
Velasquez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kamen walks away with a smile on his face. Velasquez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kamen connects with a right hand. Velasquez shakes it off.
Kamen lands a glancing blow to the side of Velasquez's head.


Velasquez is rocked!

Kamen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Velasquez, pushing him back against the cage.
Kamen dips a shoulder and cracks Velasquez with a mighty uppercut! Velasquez falls back against the cage and Kamen unloads with a barrage of strikes! Velasquez is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Kamen screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Kamen!
After the fight, Charles Kamen was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
In defeat, Fabricio Velasquez stepped up to the mic, saying 'My camp trained hard, but the better fighter won on the day. I won't let it keep me down. I'll be back, training, at the first chance I get.'.
