Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aldo Vurny!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Vurny.
Vurny throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A solid leg kick lands there for Powers.
Powers pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vurny takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like Aldo Vurny has been cut.
Some wild striking there from Vurny.
Powers appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Powers ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Powers throws a jab but it's blocked by Vurny.
Vurny lunges at Powers with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Powers's hand.
Powers misses with a left hand

so Vurny counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vurny slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Powers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Vurny connects with a couple of short punches.
Vurny slips nicely into half guard.
Vurny throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Powers avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Vurny.
Vurny is nestled in close to Powers, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Vurny is controlling the pace.
Vurny working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Vurny maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Powers could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Vurny has cracked it and Powers is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Vurny!
