Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Zach Makovsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoko Gushiken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zach Makovsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 44 - 21 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yoko Gushiken!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makovsky misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gushiken.
Gushiken fails to land with a series of punches.
Makovsky tries to counter with a takedown but Gushiken is quick to defend against it.
Gushiken lands with a right hand.
Gushiken throws the left hand but Makovsky avoids the punch easily.
Yoko Gushiken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Makovsky scores with a shot to the body.
Makovsky throws a combination. Gushiken tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Gushiken walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

and Makovsky counters with a shoot takedown. Gushiken fights it but they end up in guard.

Gushiken pushes Makovsky off and scrambles back to his feet.

Gushiken lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Makovsky blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Makovsky is trying to break free.
Gushiken doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Makovsky tries to circle away but Gushiken has him pinned against the cage.
Gushiken tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Makovsky's elbow.

Makovsky escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Makovsky seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gushiken does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Makovsky is working for a submission of some sort.
Makovsky takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Makovsky fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gushiken takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Yoko Gushiken is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Makovsky throws out a leg kick but Gushiken moves out of range and Makovsky only half commits.

Makovsky darts in looking for a takedown but Gushiken gets double underhooks and turns Makovsky into the cage.

enabling Gushiken to counter with a crisp jab.
Makovsky throws a jab but it's blocked by Gushiken.
Makovsky takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Gushiken throws a hook to the side of Makovsky's head but Makovsky sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Gushiken not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Makovsky throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gushiken works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Makovsky shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gushiken sprawls well. Gushiken wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Makovsky gets slowly back to his feet.

Makovsky looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Gushiken throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Makovsky takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Makovsky has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gushiken finds it's way round the side to connect with Makovsky's head.
Makovsky takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Makovsky moves out of range of the strikes.

Gushiken gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Zach Makovsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Makovsky shoots for a double leg takedown but Gushiken sprawls well. He's pushed Makovsky's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Makovsky looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Makovsky will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
