Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Cody Lundin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Spencer!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lundin is looking to score with low kicks.
Lundin lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Spencer shoots in for a double leg but Lundin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A low kick from Lundin is predictable there
and Spencer counters with a straight right hand.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lundin enables Spencer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lundin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Lundin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Spencer is one step ahead there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Spencer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lundin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Lundin gets a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cody Lundin will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Spencer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lundin.

Lundin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Spencer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Spencer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lundin lands with a kick to the ribs.
Spencer just misses with a punch to the body.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Spencer checks a leg kick.
Spencer steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Lundin delivers a nice body kick.
Spencer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Spencer lunges at Lundin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lundin's hand.
Lundin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


It looks like Joe Spencer has been cut.
A low kick from Lundin misses

and Spencer counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Lundin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Spencer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lundin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Spencer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Lundin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Spencer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lundin.
Spencer checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Spencer looks to land a left hand but Lundin moved out of range nicely.
It appears Lundin was looking to counter with a kick there.

Lundin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spencer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Spencer postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Spencer throws a strike but Lundin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Spencer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Spencer throws a strike but Lundin avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Spencer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lundin has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Spencer should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lundin has tightened it up now! Spencer should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
