Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Christian Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borys Mankowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mankowski is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kękę -Wyjebane. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christian Battle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Borys Mankowski!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battle looks to land a combination but Mankowski avoids it well.

Battle gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mankowski to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Let's hope that Mankowski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Battle is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mankowski is controlling him well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mankowski has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Battle!

Battle tries to buck Mankowski off but he can't manage it.

It looks like Mankowski might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Mankowski seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Battle is holding on tight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mankowski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Mankowski.
You get the feeling that Battle really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Mankowski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Battle tries to avoid it but Mankowski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Battle to the ground. Battle escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mankowski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Well, if Mankowski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Battle swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Mankowski holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Mankowski is trying to trip Battle. He has hold of a leg but Battle is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mankowski persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mankowski swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Battle is now in Mankowski's guard. A big mistake from Mankowski there, giving up the dominant position!

Mankowski is looking for a triangle but Battle pushes his legs off easily.
Battle wants to stand and escape but instead Mankowski has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mankowski has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Borys Mankowski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Battle will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mankowski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Battle avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Mankowski.
The referee asks Mankowski politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Mankowski prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Battle tries to buck Mankowski off but he can't manage it.

Battle stands and steps away. Mankowski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mankowski dodges the punch combination from Battle.

Mankowski throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Battle was covering up waiting for the punch and Mankowski finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mankowski is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
