Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tony Boy Cojuangco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramirez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: El Jarabe Tapatio-The Mexican Hat Dance. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesus Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cojuangco shoots in but no luck this time.
Ramirez scores with a jab to the body.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cojuangco or perhaps it was just good defense by Ramirez, which made it look bad.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cojuangco is defended easily by Ramirez.
Ramirez now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Ramirez stalks Cojuangco and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cojuangco's face. Cojuangco staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ramirez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cojuangco stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ramirez is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Ramirez fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Ramirez.

Cojuangco changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ramirez fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cojuangco takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Cojuangco trying to stall but Ramirez improves his position.
Ramirez stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Ramirez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ramirez buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Cojuangco shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ramirez as he jumps to the side.

Cojuangco looks for a takedown but Ramirez sprawls well.
Ramirez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ramirez fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cojuangco on the side of the head.

Ramirez drives through and clinches with Cojuangco against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ramirez lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Cojuangco or not.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesus Ramirez dominated that round.

Ramirez throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cojuangco.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ramirez.

Ramirez has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cojuangco wants to get back to striking at distance but Ramirez won't allow it.
Cojuangco jumps guard but Ramirez turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Ramirez manages to break the clinch.
Ramirez cracks Cojuangco with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Ramirez tests Cojuangco's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Cojuangco tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ramirez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cojuangco somewhat.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Cojuangco. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Cojuangco takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ramirez scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Cojuangco shoots for a double leg takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. He's pushed Cojuangco's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jesus Ramirez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Cojuangco's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Ramirez shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Cojuangco eats them both and turns towards Ramirez to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ramirez.

Cojuangco takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Ramirez has closed the distance and engaged Cojuangco in a clinch.
Cojuangco wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cojuangco tries to pull guard but Ramirez won't allow it.

Ramirez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cojuangco tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ramirez swivels and escapes.

Nice uppercut lands for Ramirez. That snapped Cojuangco's head back.
Ramirez cracks Cojuangco with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ramirez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cojuangco has gone for a leg lock! Ramirez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cojuangco's guard.

Ramirez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cojuangco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cojuangco manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Ramirez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cojuangco is working away from the top position though.

Cojuangco seems to be working for a kimura but Ramirez defends the submission attempt.
Cojuangco will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ramirez works his way to full guard. Good work.

Cojuangco thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Cojuangco drops back looking for a leg! Ramirez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ramirez manages to kick Cojuangco off! Cojuangco jumps back into Ramirez's guard.
Ramirez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cojuangco drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ramirez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cojuangco has Ramirez in his guard.


Cojuangco looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Cojuangco is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Ramirez has his hands clasped together but Cojuangco extends and breaks Ramirez's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Cojuangco.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tony Boy Cojuangco!
