PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Le Carre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrone Weaver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weaver comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Explosivo kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tyrone Weaver!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Le Carre lands.
Weaver jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Weaver slips under a jab.
Weaver scores with a body shot.
Le Carre takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The fighters circling - Le Carre throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Weaver looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Le Carre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Le Carre looks to land a left hand but Weaver moved out of range nicely.
Le Carre tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Weaver was well out of range. Poor timing from Le Carre.
Le Carre misses with a double jab.
Le Carre throws a right and a left that Weaver avoids nicely.
Le Carre avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Le Carre looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Le Carre takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Weaver's corner calls for a 1-2. Weaver obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Le Carre.
Weaver comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Le Carre closes the distance and clinches up with Weaver, looking for a takedown. Le Carre pushes Weaver against the cage but Weaver circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Weaver swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Le Carre feints a jab promting Weaver to slip. Le Carre then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Weaver slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Le Carre looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Le Carre takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Weaver misses with a straight right.
Le Carre slips a straight right by Weaver.
Le Carre misses the jab.
Weaver just misses with a punch to the body.
Tyrone Weaver is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Weaver gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Le Carre to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Weaver is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Weaver utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Le Carre is in close to Weaver's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Weaver has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Island Top Team. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Weaver wants to sweep here but Le Carre controlling him for the moment.

Le Carre is working Weaver over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Le Carre keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Weaver's head.
Le Carre controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Le Carre loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Le Carre postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Le Carre working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Le Carre is looking to work some ground and pound but Weaver has wrist control.
Weaver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Le Carre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Le Carre stays in close to Weaver's body and controls the position.
Le Carre postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyrone Weaver dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Le Carre fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Weaver sprawls well initially but Le Carre persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Weaver wants to improve his position but Le Carre is controlling well.
Le Carre seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Weaver does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Le Carre thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Weaver's head.
Le Carre landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Le Carre throwing shots but Weaver is blocking nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Le Carre is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Weaver's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Le Carre is scoring with a succession of shots from the back. Weaver is covering up - he's had enough and the ref steps in to end the fight!
