Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Yuki Shojo and Random Fighter. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Yuki Shojo! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 0 losses; Random Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Fighter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shojo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fighter somewhat.

Fighter gets tackled into the cage by Shojo. Shojo maintains the clinch.

Shojo has Fighter pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shojo pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Fighter tumbling to the mat - Shojo dives into Fighter's guard.

Fighter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shojo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shojo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shojo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Shojo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shojo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Shojo sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Fighter jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Shojo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Shojo and Fighter has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Fighter passes to full mount!

Shojo is looking to get to half guard.
Fighter pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Fighter can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shojo is looking to escape.

Fighter is keen to just control but Shojo is a slippery customer.
Shojo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fighter on the ground.

Fighter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shojo is just riding it out for now. Fighter eventually gives up the hold.

Fighter uses his free foot to push down on Shojo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shojo.

Shojo is refusing to be controlled, as Fighter sits in half guard.

Fighter is controlling the pace.
Shojo is looking for a sweep. Fighter is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Shojo is staying active underneath Fighter, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Shojo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fighter is working away from the top position though.
