The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves darts in looking for a takedown but Vamoosh gets double underhooks and turns Alves into the cage.
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vamoosh paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Alves shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vamoosh defends it nicely.
Vamoosh throws a right and a left that Alves avoids nicely.
Alves avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Alves feinted with a counter takedown.
Alves shoots for a takedown but Vamoosh saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renzo Alves . That's going to take a lot out of him.

It looks like Renzo Alves has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vamoosh connects with a body shot that sends Alves 's belly button to the back.
Vamoosh has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Alves is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Alves is breathing heavily.

Vamoosh feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Alves sprawling to the canvas! Alves rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Vamoosh finish him?!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alves circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Vamoosh. Alves falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Vamoosh!
