And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marty Stephensson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salgado closes the distance and clinches.
Stephensson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stephensson.
Stephensson can't find room to land a body shot as Salgado controls the action.
Salgado blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Stephensson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Salgado tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Stephensson is able to avoid easily.
Nice uppercut lands for Salgado. That snapped Stephensson's head back.

Salgado has Stephensson up against the cage in a clinch.
Stephensson misses with a punch on the inside.
Stephensson lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A hook to the body from Stephensson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salgado breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Stephensson throws a low kick but Salgado moves out of range easily.
Salgado feinted with a counter takedown.
Salgado misses with the body kick
and Stephensson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Salgado on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Stephensson. Stephensson obviously looking to wear him down.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Salgado tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stephensson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Stephensson flicks out a counter leg kick but Salgado steps away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Salgado avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Stephensson clinches up against the cage.

Stephensson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stephensson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Salgado's calf.
Salgado wants to clinch up but Stephensson keeps it at a distance.
Stephensson lands a big head kick that sends Salgado to the canvas! Stephensson follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marty Stephensson!
A relieved looking Marty Stephensson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
