Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hassen Khalifa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodolfo Matos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalifa comes to the cage accompanied by Boxing Motivation - Experience. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hassen Khalifa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rodolfo Matos!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khalifa throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Khalifa misses with a combination
and Matos counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Khalifa wants to get back to his feet but Matos is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Matos trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Matos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Khalifa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Matos controls from within his opponent's guard.
Matos gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khalifa lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Matos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Khalifa is fending him off so far but Matos persists. Nope, Khalifa circles away and we're back to standing.
Khalifa went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Matos pushes Khalifa up against the cage in a clinch.
Our sources have told us that Khalifa has been working on his elbows in the gym.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Khalifa pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Khalifa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matos throws a head kick but Khalifa moves out of range.
Matos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Matos.
Matos trying to control the action but Khalifa is working from the bottom.
Khalifa tries to escape but Matos is in control.
Matos connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Khalifa some visible discomfort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Khalifa is not content to let Matos control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Matos in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Khalifa is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
