And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Nevsky!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nevsky.
It seemed like Nevsky was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Nice defenses there by McCoy.

Nevsky moves into the clinch successfully.
Nevsky misses with a punch on the inside.
Nevsky trying to land knees to the body.
McCoy takes a knee right on the jaw!


It looks like Hatfield McCoy has been cut.
Nevsky landing knees to the head.
Nevsky using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
McCoy blocking some punches.
Come on Nevsky - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
McCoy throws a punch but it's blocked by Nevsky.
Nevsky lands a shot to the body.
McCoy lands a damaging elbow.
Nevsky misses with a punch on the inside.
A nice left hand lands by Nevsky.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nevsky manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

The crowd are getting on Nevsky's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

McCoy goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
McCoy looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Nevsky unloads a knee to the mid-section. McCoy lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
McCoy pushes Nevsky back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Nevsky tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
McCoy is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Nevsky stalling against the cage.
Nevsky has a couple of punches blocked by McCoy.
Nevsky avoids the elbow strike from McCoy, against the cage.
McCoy on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nevsky scores with a knee to the head.
Nevsky misses with a short punch on the inside.
Nevsky tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Nevsky lands an uppercut.
I was talking to McCoy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Nevsky lands a shot to the body.
McCoy tries to land knees in the clinch but Nevsky avoids the damage to the body.
Nevsky using the Thai plumb to throw knees but McCoy has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCoy lands a nice uppercut.
McCoy has had enough of the clinch but Nevsky keeps him there for the moment.
Nevsky misses with a punch on the inside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McCoy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nevsky moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Nevsky works McCoy's body with a nice hook.
McCoy fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Nevsky checks it well.
McCoy throws a sloppy head kick and Nevsky moves out of range easily.
A swing and a miss from McCoy.
Nevsky lands with a good body shot.
McCoy does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Nevsky looks like he wants to counter punch here.
McCoy just misses with a punch to the body.

McCoy misses with an uppercut
letting Nevsky counter with a right hand.
Nevsky throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McCoy misses with a body shot
and Nevsky counters with a crisp right that sends McCoy to the canvas! Nevsky follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alexander Nevsky!
