The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Stoyak Stoyachnikov has been cut.

Donaire throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Stoyachnikov counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Donaire!
Stoyachnikov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Donaire's head.

Stoyachnikov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Donaire with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Stoyachnikov works his foot free and advances to mount.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The referee warns Donaire that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Donaire takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Stoyachnikov's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Stoyak Stoyachnikov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
