Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Satoru Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tremaine Van (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van has chosen Drowning Pool - Bodies as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Satoru Takada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tremaine Van !
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takada blocks the body kick.
Van bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Takada's head backwards.

Van ducks under a wild hook from Takada.

As Takada backs off Van throws a huge counter combo but Takada manages to avoid it all.
Takada looks to score with a jab to the body but Van is just out of range.
Van is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Van misses with a body kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Takada. Van does a little dance to reset his feet.
Takada misses with a straight right.
Van misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Takada.
Takada cracks Van with a good jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A low kick from Van is predictable there
and Takada cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Takada clobbers Van with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Takada fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Takada fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Takada lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Van tries to land a body kick
and Takada counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Takada counters by moving into the clinch.
Takada lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Van using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Takada has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Van tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Takada avoids it.
Takada lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Van misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Takada.
A shot in the inside from Takada.

Takada breaks from the clinch.
Takada shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Van tries a head kick but it misses.
Takada staying out of range there.
Takada seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Takada has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Van walks into a stiff left hand from Takada.
Van connects with a leg kick. Takada looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Takada lands with a shot to the body.
Nice cross by Takada.
Takada displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Van throws out the jab.
No joy there for Van , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Takada tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Van manages to circle out of the way.
Takada lands the left hand.
Van fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Van throws a leg kick
letting Takada counter with a right hand.
Van walks straight into a right hand from Takada - that's dropped him! Takada jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Van from any more punishment! Van complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Satoru Takada!
In defeat, Tremaine Van stepped up to the mic, saying 'Well done to Mark Holm. I'm very disappointed with that fight, I need to figure out what went wrong '.
