PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Crespo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Crespo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Silent Lucidity. Aldo Crespo had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aldo Crespo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Freddy Warren!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crespo is looking to clinch.
Crespo tries to clinch but Warren is having none of it.
Crespo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Warren paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Warren lands a jab to Crespo's midsection.
Crespo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Crespo misses with the body kick
and Warren counters with a left to the body.
Warren stuffs the takedown attempt from Crespo. Crespo gets slowly back to his feet.
A nice side step and Warren releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crespo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Crespo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Crespo looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Crespo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Crespo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Crespo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It seemed like Warren was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Crespo might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Crespo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Warren controls the pace.
Warren is continuing to stall.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Crespo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Warren fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Warren keeps the fight on the outside.

Warren looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Crespo is rocked!
Horrible takedown attempt by Crespo or perhaps it was just good defense by Warren, which made it look bad.
Warren swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Crespo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Warren to score with a decent uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freddy Warren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Warren feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Crespos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Warren has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Oh Crespo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Warren clobbers Crespo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Crespo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Warren connects with a good right hand that stumbles Crespo. Crespo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Warren scores with a counter punch that sends Crespo to the canvas! Warren smells blood - he's punishing Crespo with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Crespo has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Freddy Warren!
