Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eldon Pacheco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tim Holmes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eldon Pacheco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Holmes!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holmes closes the distance and clinches.

Holmes jumps guard.

Pacheco stands up from Holmes's guard - Pacheco perhaps looking for a knockout.
Holmes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Holmes wants a takedown.
Holmes is trying to pull guard but Pacheco turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Eldon Pacheco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Holmes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holmes has Pacheco pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Holmes pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pacheco tumbling to the mat - Holmes dives into Pacheco's guard.
Holmes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Holmes throws a strike but Pacheco rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pacheco's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Holmes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pacheco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pacheco postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Pacheco could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pacheco loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Pacheco trying to stand up but can't free himself from Holmes's guard.
Holmes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Holmes is looking to sweep but instead, Pacheco has passed into half guard.

Pacheco seems to be looking for submissions.

Holmes wants to control but Pacheco is keeping busy.

Pacheco is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Pacheco looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Holmes desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Pacheco passes into side control, despite Holmes's attempt to control the position.

Pacheco is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Holmes is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Holmes is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pacheco off and has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holmes trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Pacheco doesn't escape.
Holmes has Pacheco flattened out and is raining down punches.

Holmes trying to control.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Holmes working for a choke but Pacheco reverses nicely into Holmes 's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eldon Pacheco will probably get the nod.

Holmes forces Pacheco back against the cage and clinches.
Pacheco misses with a body punch.
Pacheco is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Holmes is keeping busy.
Pacheco tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Holmes avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holmes fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pacheco looking to slow down the pace here.
Holmes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pacheco smiles and moves away.

Holmes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Holmes stalling.

Holmes is trying to trip Pacheco. He has hold of a leg but Pacheco is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Holmes persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Pacheco working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Holmes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Holmes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Holmes tries to free his leg and advance position but Pacheco is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holmes wants to control from the top but Pacheco keeps moving.

Pacheco tries to strike from the bottom.
Holmes prevents Pacheco from getting back to his feet.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Holmes's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Holmes with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Holmes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Holmes decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Holmes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pacheco is fending him off so far but Holmes persists. Nope, Pacheco circles away and we're back to standing.
Eldon Pacheco has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Holmes.
Holmes shoots for a takedown but Pacheco saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pacheco tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Holmes manages to circle out of the way.

Pacheco clinches up with Holmes and pushes him back against the cage.
Pacheco prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pacheco wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Pacheco is trying to break free.
Holmes is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Holmes landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pacheco doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Holmes is looking to take this one to the mat.
Holmes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pacheco is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pacheco is working for takedown but Holmes is calmly controlling the position for now.
Pacheco is trying to stall.
Holmes has Pacheco pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pacheco manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A close second round but Tim Holmes will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Eldon Pacheco overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pacheco stands up and beckons Holmes to his feet.

Holmes has Pacheco up against the cage in a clinch.
Come on Pacheco - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Pacheco gets tackled into the cage by Holmes. Holmes maintains the clinch.
Holmes is trying to pull guard but Pacheco has him pressed against the cage.

Pacheco is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Holmes gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Pacheco regains guard.
Pacheco lands an upkick as Holmes stands over him.
Holmes is stalling in the full guard.
Holmes is looking to work some ground and pound but Pacheco has wrist control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Holmes manages to break the clinch.
Holmes pushes Pacheco away with a front kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Holmes. Pacheco does a little dance to reset his feet.

Holmes closes the distance and pushes Pacheco back into the cage.
Holmes tries to pull guard but Pacheco won't allow it.

Holmes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tim Holmes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pacheco is looking to control Holmes's arms but Holmes gets an underhook and turns him. Now Pacheco has his back to the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tim Holmes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Holmes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
