With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dick Mahoney!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rickard Rakell!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rakell fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Mahoney takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Rakell avoids the body shot from Mahoney.
Rakell lands with a shot to the body.
A left and a right from Rakell both land. Nice combination.
Nice straight punches there by Rakell. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rakell.
Rakell thuds a left hand into Mahoney's body.
Mahoney is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rakell.
Rakell just misses with a punch to the body.
Rakell lands with a right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rakell cracks Mahoney with a right hand to the side of the head.
Mahoney displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rakell throws out the jab.
Rakell uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mahoney has time to react.
Rakell closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Mahoney just misses with a punch to the body.
Mahoney avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mahoney tries to clinch there but Rakell circles away.
Rakell takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rakell circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A decent looking cross lands there for Rakell.
Rakell connects with a body shot that sends Mahoney's belly button to the back.
Sloppy strikes from Rakell. Those never looked like landing.
Mahoney is looking to counter with a body kick.
Rakell throws out a loose jab but Mahoney uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rakell jabs at Mahoney's body.
Mahoney misses with a hook. Rakell ducked under it nicely.
Rakell ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mahoney moves away.
Mahoney jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rakell. Mahoney does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mahoney swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Mahoney stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Rickard Rakell has been cut.
Rakell lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Rakell has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Rakell darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Rakell swinging wildly here.
Mahoney uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rakell.
Mahoney was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rakell throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mahoney sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mahoney tries to score with a low kick but Rakell moves his leg out of the way.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rakell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Rakell takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rickard Rakell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mahoney does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mahoney looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Rakell tries to get into range but Mahoney steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Rakell! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Mahoney scores the big KO victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dick Mahoney!
