Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bernie Zimmerman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Fernedez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bernie Zimmerman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Henry Fernedez!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernedez misses with a takedown attempt - Zimmerman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Zimmerman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Fernedez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zimmerman to the mat! Zimmerman manages to get full guard.
Fernedez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fernedez won't allow Zimmerman to get back to his feet.

Zimmerman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Zimmerman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Fernedez is controlling him.
Fernedez is standing up over Zimmerman. Zimmerman looks to escape but Fernedez dives into side control.
Fernedez scores with punches from side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Zimmerman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Zimmerman is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Fernedez is controlling him well.
Fernedez wants to stand but Zimmerman is controlling his arm.
Fernedez is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Zimmerman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Zimmerman is trying to escape the position but Fernedez is controlling the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Fernedez gets a double leg takedown into Zimmerman's guard.

Zimmerman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Fernedez controls from within his opponent's guard.
Fernedez wants to get up but he can't break Zimmerman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Fernedez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Zimmerman quickly recovers to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fernedez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Zimmerman tries to kick Fernedez off but Fernedez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Still in half guard, Fernedez seems content to control.
Zimmerman wants to sweep but Fernedez has passed to side control!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Zimmerman takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Henry Fernedez dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Fernedez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Zimmerman. Fernedez shrugs it off though.
Fernedez dodges the punch combination from Zimmerman.
Zimmerman throws a series of punches but Fernedez avoids them all with ease.
Zimmerman misses with a kick to the body.

Zimmerman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fernedez to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Zimmerman is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fernedez turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fernedez moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Zimmerman is trying to buck Fernedez off.
Zimmerman seems a little lost for a moment, as Fernedez dominates the positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Zimmerman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Zimmerman seems a little lost for a moment, as Fernedez dominates the positioning.
Zimmerman tries to improve position but can't.
Fernedez happy to just control the position for now.

Fernedez is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Zimmerman is trying to escape and Fernedez transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Zimmerman is forced to tap! Nice work there by Fernedez! Very nice indeed!
