Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jos Beton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lee Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beton stuffs the takedown.
Beton tries to counter with a takedown but Wallace is quick to defend against it.
Beton tries for a takedown but Wallace sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Beton fails with the takedown.
Beton keeps the fight on the outside.
Beton half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Wallace takes the fight into the clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Wallace throws an elbow but misses.
Beton prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wallace drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Beton gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Jos Beton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lee Wallace.
A head punch on the inside from Wallace fails to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wallace misses with a hook from the clinch.
Wallace jumps guard but Beton turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Wallace misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Beton.
Beton goes for a takedown attempt but Wallace pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Beton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wallace avoids it really well and circles away.
Wallace fails with a takedown attempt.

Beton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wallace to the mat! Wallace manages to get full guard.
Wallace keeping moving, preventing Beton from controlling successfully.
Beton is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Holding Cell that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Beton is pushing down on Wallace's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wallace is fighting to maintain full guard but Beton has managed to sneak the leg through.
Beton wants to take a breather but Wallace is having none of it.
Wallace won't allow Beton to pass to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Beton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wallace defends it well.

Beton has gone for a leg lock! Wallace slips out almost immediately though and dives into Beton's guard.

Beton seems keen to control Wallace's posture.

Wallace postures up in Beton's guard and throws a big left but Beton blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wallace stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wallace landing some decent shots from guard.
Wallace won't allow Beton to get back to his feet.

Beton throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Wallace throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beton works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Beton is looking to stand up but Wallace isn't so interested in that idea.

Beton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wallace gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wallace makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Beton keeps moving.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wallace is stalling in the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lee Wallace will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Beton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wallace sprawls well. Wallace wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Beton gets slowly back to his feet.
Wallace looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Beton has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Beton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Beton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wallace defends it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Beton is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Wallace is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jos Beton!
