Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Avery Arellano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ace Rob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Avery Arellano could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ace Rob's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Avery Arellano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ace Rob!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arellano closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rob quickly recovers to half guard.
Rob throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Rob wants to improve his position but Arellano is controlling well.
Arellano throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Rob to regain full guard.
Arellano postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Arellano with a flurry of punches that miss.

Arellano got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rob has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arellano has managed to get both his arms back between Rob's legs - danger averted.
Rob is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arellano stops Rob from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rob is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rob is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Arellano defends well.

Rob is pulling down on Arellano's head to control his posture.
Arellano trying to control the position from guard on top but Rob is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rob not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rob manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Arellano manages to get himself to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rob stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arellano swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rob stands up from Arellano's guard - Rob perhaps looking for a knockout.
Sloppy strikes from Rob. Those never looked like landing.

Arellano closes the distance and pushes Rob back into the cage.

Rob breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Arellano bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rob tries to buck Arellano off but Arellano is having none of it.
Arellano wants to stand but Rob has his arm trapped.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rob manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Arellano avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rob.
Rob is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rob throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Rob tries to control but Arellano wriggling away.
Arellano is trying to stand.

Rob jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Arellano is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Arellano and Rob has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Arellano is trying to get back to his feet.

Rob stands up.
Arellano goes for a double leg but Rob avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rob continues to drive forward.
Rob shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arellano sprawls well. Arellano wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rob gets slowly back to his feet.

Arellano tries to keep at a distance but Rob has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Arellano wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ace Rob dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Arellano wants to clinch.
Rob unleashes a big counter combination but Arellano bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Avery Arellano is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Arellano shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rob sprawls well. Rob wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Arellano gets slowly back to his feet.
Avery Arellano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rob shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Arellano changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Rob gets a double leg takedown into Arellano's guard.

Rob trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Rob has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rob not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Arellano keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rob tries for a takedown but Arellano sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A punch combination from Rob misses.
Rob checks a leg kick.
Rob dives in for a single leg takedown but Arellano sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Avery Arellano has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ace Rob.

A chopping leg kick lands by Rob.
Arellano lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Arellano.
Rob fails with a takedown attempt.
Arellano tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rob defends well and Arellano ends up having to push Rob into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Arellano gets caught napping as Rob dives in and scores a takedown. Arellano manages to retain guard.
Rob scoring with punches to the head and body.
Rob controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Rob has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Rob prevents Arellano from getting back to his feet.

Rob thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Arellano knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rob on the ground.
Rob makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rob is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Arellano misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rob throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rob looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rob tries to clinch but Arellano moves out of range.
Arellano shoots in looking for a takedown but Rob manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Arellano's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Arellano throws a nice looking combination but Rob bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ace Rob will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Arellano avoids the head kick by Rob.
Arellano keeps the fight on the outside.
Rob looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Arellano is fending him off so far but Rob persists. Nope, Arellano circles away and we're back to standing.
Arellano misses with a series of wild punches.
Rob pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rob on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Rob shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Arellano defends it nicely.

Rob has gone for a leg lock! Arellano slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rob's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rob controlling the position.
Arellano landing with the ground and pound.

Rob had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Arellano defends it easily.
Arellano makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Arellano works over Rob with some ground and pound from guard.
Rob manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Arellano manages to get himself to full guard.

Arellano is looking to stand back up but Rob counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Arellano.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rob not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Rob prevents Arellano from standing back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rob connects with a nice short shot to Arellano's temple.
Rob thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Arellano's head.
Rob thows a huge punch but Arellano dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rob stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Arellano to get to his feet.
Arellano tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rob swivels and escapes.

Rob shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Arellano wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rob in particular looking to stall.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ace Rob comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rob winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
