The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chuvalo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Holbert dives in and grabs Chuvalo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chuvalo pushes down on Holbert's head and hops out.

and Holbert counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chuvalo will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Chuvalo wants to get back to his feet but Holbert is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Chuvalo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Chuvalo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Holbert's guard.

Chuvalo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Holbert pulls Chuvalo in close to prevent any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Holbert is working an open guard so Chuvalo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Chuvalo dips a shoulder and cracks Holbert with a mighty uppercut! Holbert falls back against the cage and Chuvalo unloads with a barrage of strikes! Holbert is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Chuvalo screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
