Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bongo Drum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bongo Drum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Charles!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
An inside leg kick lands from Charles.
Drum shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Charles pinned against the cage. Charles gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Charles feints the counter takedown.
Drum definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Drum shoots for a takedown but Charles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Charles tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Drum dives in for a single leg takedown but Charles sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Charles thuds his shin into the meat of Drum's side.

Charles pulls Drum in close to prevent any damage.
Drum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Drum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Drum really is a fat lump.
Charles is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Drum wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving.
Drum wants to pass the guard but Charles is keeping the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Drum tries to clinch but Charles moves out of range.
Charles has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Drum is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Charles chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Charles explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Charles lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Drum shoots in looking for a takedown but Charles manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Drum's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And Charles tries to counter it with a takedown but Drum pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Drum takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Drum shoots in but no luck this time.
Charles feints the counter takedown.
Charles lands a high kick!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Drum takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Charles looks for a takedown but Drum sprawls well.
Drum takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Charles digs a good body shot into Drum's ribs.

Drum fails to land the takedown.
Charles drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Drum defends it well.
Charles lands with a shot to the body.
Charles throws a nice outside leg kick.
Charles works Drum's body with a nice hook.

Charles is looking to slow Drum down with leg kicks.
A solid leg kick lands there for Charles.
Drum takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Charles throws a head kick that misses.
Drum feinted with a counter takedown.
That kick from Charles tenderised Drum's leg. Drum is trying to keep his angry face on.

Charles scores with a punch to the head.
Drum doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Drum takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Charles lands a nice leg kick that just misses Drum's sensitive parts.
Drum sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Charles lands a slapping body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Charles lands a high kick!
Charles ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Drum shoots in for a double leg but Charles sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Charles digs a good body shot into Drum's ribs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
No luck for Drum with that takedown attempt.
Charles tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Charles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Charles closes the distance and pushes Drum back into the cage.
Charles gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Drum.

Charles has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Drum uses from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Drum drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Drum jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Drum wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving.
Drum might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Charles can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Drum controls the pace.
Charles has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Charles keeping full guard, as Drum tries to pass.

Drum tries to free his leg and advance position but Charles is retaining full guard.

Drum thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Charles connects with an inside leg kick.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Charles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Charles changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Drum stuffs the takedown attempt from Charles. Charles gets slowly back to his feet.
Drum attempts a counter takedown but Charles avoids it well and moves away.
Charles lands a leg kick that knocks Drum off balance momentarily.

Charles lands a nice shot to the body.
Drum tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Charles defends well and Drum ends up having to push Charles into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bongo Drum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Good leg kick by Charles there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Drum has a takedown stuffed.
Bongo Drum has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Charles dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Drum. That did some damage!
Charles lands with an overhand left.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Drum takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Charles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Charles winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
