Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renaldo Pollard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Freeling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renaldo Pollard is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Renaldo Pollard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duke Freeling!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Freeling shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Freeling showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Freeling is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Pollard trying to control here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pollard is looking to improve his position.

Freeling stands up and beckons Pollard to join him on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Freeling as Pollard shoots in.
Duke Freeling seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Freeling shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pollard defends it nicely.
Pollard was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Freeling looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Freeling counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Pollard counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Freeling steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Pollard.

Pollard ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pollard no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

With the fighters up against the cage, Freeling throws an elbow but misses.
Pollard has Freeling pressed against the cage, preventing Freeling from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Freeling would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Freeling wants to stand and escape but instead Pollard has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Freeling had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pollard defends it easily.

Pollard is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Pollard prevents Freeling from getting back to his feet.
Pollard is working Freeling over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Pollard displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Freeling.
It looked like Pollard was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Freeling.

Pollard closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Freeling quickly recovers to half guard.

Pollard throws a head kick but Freeling moves out of range.

Freeling shoots for a takedown but Pollard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pollard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Freeling avoids it really well and circles away.
A nice side step and Freeling releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Freeling is breathing heavily.

Freeling wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Freeling tried to score with a low kick but Pollard checks it.

Pollard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Freeling bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Pollard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Freeling pushes Pollard off and gets back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Freeling.

Pollard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Freeling sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pollard somewhat.
Freeling finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Freeling stuffs the takedown attempt from Pollard. Pollard gets slowly back to his feet.
Freeling steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Pollard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renaldo Pollard. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Freeling misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pollard was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Pollard stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Freeling.

Pollard gets tackled into the cage by Freeling. Freeling maintains the clinch.

Pollard successfully pulls guard.

Freeling gets to his feet. Pollard looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Freeling takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A head kick misses from Freeling.

Pollard shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Freeling's guard.
Pollard wants to stand but Freeling is controlling his posture from full guard.
Pollard postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Freeling is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Freeling stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Pollard to get to his feet.
Freeling shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pollard as he jumps to the side.
Pollard swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Freeling shoots for a takedown but Pollard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Freeling lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

As Pollard backs off Freeling throws a huge counter combo but Pollard manages to avoid it all.

Freeling gets caught napping as Pollard dives in and scores a takedown. Freeling manages to retain guard.

Freeling is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Freeling breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Freeling. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Pollard darts in looking for a takedown but Freeling gets double underhooks and turns Pollard into the cage.

Pollard shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pollard showed some decent athleticism there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Freeling throws a strike from the bottom but Pollard passes into side control!
Renaldo Pollard has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Duke Freeling is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Pollard grinds an elbow into Freeling's temple.

I've got Freeling winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
