Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Imaad Rahman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Montgomery has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Montgomery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Imaad Rahman!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rahman drives through with a takedown into Montgomery's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rahman passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Rahman swings around for an armbar but Montgomery sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rahman's guard.
Montgomery tries to stand but Rahman is controlling from the bottom.

Rahman throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Montgomery escapes and throws Rahman's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Montgomery sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rahman is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Montgomery staying calm.
Montgomery cracks Rahman with a big right hand but Rahman just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Montgomery tries for a kimura but Rahman is defending well.
Montgomery looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rahman is avoiding damage well.
Montgomery tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Rahman wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Montgomery is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rahman has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Montgomery decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rahman to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rahman feints and as Montgomery raises his hands in defense, Rahman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Montgomery looking for a guillotine here but Rahman defends easily.

Rahman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rahman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Montgomery has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rahman has managed to get both his arms back between Montgomery's legs - danger averted.

Rahman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Montgomery dives on top into guard.

Rahman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Montgomery slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Montgomery trying to control the position from guard on top but Rahman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rahman being controlled here, momentarily.
Montgomery has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Rahman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Montgomery defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Rahman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montgomery doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Montgomery manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rahman looks winded!
Montgomery wanted to stand there but Rahman had control of the position.
Montgomery controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Montgomery is looking to stand up but Rahman won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Thomas Montgomery will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Rahman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Rahman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Montgomery is trying to get back to full guard.

Rahman wants to work for an arm triangle but Montgomery is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Rahman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Montgomery is just riding it out for now. Rahman eventually gives up the hold.

Rahman drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Rahman as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Montgomery screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Rahman! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Imaad Rahman!
Imaad Rahman decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
