Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gay fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Muntean shoots in and gets a takedown into Gay's guard.
Gay is working an open guard so Muntean takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Muntean throws a wild body kick that Gay sees coming a mile off.
Muntean blocks a head kick by Gay.
Gay really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gay sneaks out the side door and pushes Muntean away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Muntean tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gay knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Gay pushes Muntean off looking to stand but Muntean dives back in and keeps control.

Gay is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Muntean presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Gay has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Muntean is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Muntean is on top in guard.

Gay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Muntean doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Muntean manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gay will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gay utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Muntean got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gay has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Muntean has managed to get both his arms back between Gay's legs - danger averted.

and Gay counters with a nice double leg into side control. Muntean won't be happy with that.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Muntean lands a huge takedown. Gay is out but the ref is slow to react and Muntean lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Gay lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
