Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Quinton Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nails McGuffer!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGuffer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Slater keeping full guard, as McGuffer tries to pass.

McGuffer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Slater is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Slater has escaped and now he's on top!

Slater trying to control the position from guard on top but McGuffer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McGuffer working for a triangle but Slater defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGuffer wants to sweep here but Slater controlling him for the moment.

Slater drops back, looking for a kneebar! McGuffer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McGuffer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McGuffer!

The strikes coming from McGuffer are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Slater is looking to reverse the position.
Slater is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGuffer working the ground and pound but Slater is defending the strikes.
Slater is looking for a sweep.

Slater is trying to work for a sweep but McGuffer has mounted him!
McGuffer throws some wild stikes that Slater manages to avoid easily.
McGuffer controlling the pace for now.
McGuffer tries to control but Slater wriggling away.

McGuffer has control of Slater's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Slater regains control of the situation pretty easily.

McGuffer is standing up, even though he is in mount.

Slater tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and McGuffer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

McGuffer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Slater quickly recovers to half guard.

Slater makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

McGuffer has taken the fight to the clinch.
McGuffer wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Slater is looking to break free of the clinch but McGuffer has double underhooks.

McGuffer has Slater pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. McGuffer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Slater tumbling to the mat - McGuffer dives into Slater's guard.

Slater pushes McGuffer off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

This has been an exciting period of action!
McGuffer takes a swing at Slater's ribcage but misses.

McGuffer closes the distance and clinches.
Slater is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McGuffer pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Slater is breathing heavily.

McGuffer gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Slater is looking to improve his position.

McGuffer wants to work for an arm triangle but Slater is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Slater really is a fat lump.
McGuffer stalling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nails McGuffer dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Slater jumps into guard, dragging McGuffer to the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McGuffer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

McGuffer stays in close to Slater's body and controls the position.
McGuffer looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGuffer stays in close to Slater's body and controls the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Slater has McGuffer up against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Slater turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

McGuffer throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Slater throws a hook but McGuffer avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McGuffer drives through and clinches with Slater against the cage.

McGuffer has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Slater clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
McGuffer is hanging on to Slater's back as he tries to escape.
McGuffer just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

McGuffer lands a shot to the head.
McGuffer struggling to keep hold of the position.
Slater rolls, trying to escape but McGuffer keeps control of the position.

McGuffer working for a choke but Slater is defending well.
McGuffer has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Slater's body.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Let's hope that McGuffer has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
McGuffer misses with a punch to the head.
I would not like to be Slater right now.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Nails McGuffer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

McGuffer is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Slater wants to improve his position but McGuffer is controlling well.
McGuffer moves nicely into side control.

McGuffer decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Slater is looking to improve his position.
McGuffer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

McGuffer uses his free foot to push down on Slater's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Slater.

McGuffer unloads with some shots from mount but Slater bucks and avoids them well.
McGuffer controlling his opponent.
Slater is trying to escape the mount.
McGuffer sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
McGuffer is continuing to stall.

McGuffer tries to control but Slater wriggling away.
McGuffer looking to control and managing it successfully.
McGuffer thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
McGuffer throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Slater because McGuffer loaded up on that one.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Slater tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McGuffer controlling his opponent.
McGuffer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McGuffer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Slater is surviving well by controlling McGuffer's body position as best he can.
McGuffer content just to control the position here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Quinton Slater has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Nails McGuffer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Nails McGuffer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McGuffer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
