The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barkio shoots in looking for a takedown but Dimelo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Barkio's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Barkio misses the shot to the body.
As Barkio backs off Dimelo throws a huge counter combo but Barkio manages to avoid it all.
Dimelo avoids the head kick by Barkio.
Barkio backing away here, and Dimelo unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Barkio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dimelo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Eli Barkio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barkio darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dimelo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dimelo is trying to control but Barkio passes into side control!

Barkio wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dimelo, who protects the arm well.
Dimelo tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Barkio is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dimelo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Barkio trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Barkio tries to control but Dimelo wriggling away.
Dimelo tries to control the position but Barkio now has his back.
Barkio is not going to allow Dimelo to sit and survive in this position.

Dimelo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Barkio haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Barkio has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dimelo has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Barkio has the hooks in. Dimelo is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Barkio looking to break Dimelo's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Dimelo remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Barkio will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Dimelo is in bad spot here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Barkio is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Dimelo has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Barkio is breathing heavily.
Dimelo rolls, trying to escape but Barkio keeps control of the position.

Barkio misses with a takedown attempt - Dimelo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Barkio is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dimelo can do to turn this around?
Some bone on bone action there as Barkio checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
