Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronnie Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy James!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones blocks a jab.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. James tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag James to the ground. James escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but James does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Jones connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused James some visible discomfort.
James is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jones is controlling him well.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

James is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jones asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Jones has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronnie Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by James.
Jones sets himself, and James steps forward looking for the clinch! Jones avoids it this time.

James feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jones sprawling to the canvas! Jones rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can James finish him?!


It looks like Ronnie Jones has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

James clinches with his opponent.

James drops Jones onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Jones is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!


Jones is rocked!
James is working Jones over against the cage.
Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

James presses Jones against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
James lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
James digs a right hand underneath Jones's ribcage. Jones let out a lung full of air as it connected.
James dips a shoulder and cracks Jones with a mighty uppercut! Jones falls back against the cage and James unloads with a barrage of strikes! Jones is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - James screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy James!
