Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Santiago Areias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Lincoln (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Areias pushes Lincoln up against the cage in a clinch.

Areias is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Areias really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lincoln throws an elbow that misses. Areias uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lincoln's guard. Nice move by Areias!

Areias decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lincoln, up you get!
Areias shoots in looking for a takedown. Lincoln tries to sprawl out of it but Areias keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lincoln manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Areias can't find room to land a body shot as Lincoln controls the action.

A close round but Jamal Lincoln will probably get the nod.

That's time! Areias's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
A nice leg kick lands there from Areias.
Areias takes one on the chin but seems OK.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lincoln enables Areias to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lincoln manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Lincoln manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Areias takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

That was a close second round but I would say that Santiago Areias will probably get the nod.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lincoln can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Santiago Areias.
