Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

29 - 9 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jake Theodorou!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Theodorou has managed to clinch.
Unz looking for a takedown.
Unz has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Theodorou avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Unz decides to pull guard.
Theodorou is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Theodorou stays in close to Unz's body and controls the position.
Unz wants to sweep but no luck.
Unz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Theodorou doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Theodorou manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Theodorou avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Unz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Theodorou passes into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Theodorou cracks Unz with a big elbow.

Theodorou stands up.
Oh Unz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Theodorou gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Theodorou dips a shoulder and cracks Unz with a mighty uppercut! Unz falls back against the cage and Theodorou unloads with a barrage of strikes! Unz is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Theodorou screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Theodorou! Jake Theodorou retains his light heavyweight title!
A relieved looking Jake Theodorou thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
