Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenton England (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolas Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Kenton England has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenton England!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nicolas Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

England gets caught flat footed, as Escobar shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Escobar wants to control from the top but England keeps moving.
Escobar pushes down on England's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Escobar is nestled in close to England, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Escobar is taking a breather. England says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
England really is a fat lump.
Escobar wants to stand but England has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

England looking for subs from the bottom but Escobar mounts him!
Escobar blocks England's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
England sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Escobar lands strikes from half guard.

England looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
England tries to kick Escobar off but Escobar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Escobar looking for a submission but England manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Escobar engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Escobar tries to stand but England is controlling from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
England cracks Escobar with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
England throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Escobar scores with a takedown into England's guard.

Escobar slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

England has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Escobar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
England takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

England takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.


It looks like Kenton England has been cut.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Escobar.

Escobar stands up and we're back to a striking position.
England takes a swing at Escobar's ribcage but misses.
England fails in his attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Escobar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming England to the mat! England manages to get full guard.
England wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Escobar manages to pass to side control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

England scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Escobar manages to mount him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Escobar controlling the position easily from mount.
England's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Escobar wants to control the pace but England is squirming around nicely.
England takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Escobar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Escobar jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… England is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by England and Escobar has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Escobar wants to control but England is keeping him busy.
England tries to bench press Escobar off him but Escobar keeps the position.
Escobar takes a little break here. England wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Escobar stands up.
England avoids a kick to the body.

England takes the fight into the clinch.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Escobar. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Escobar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
England fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Escobar looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

England has Escobar up against the cage in a clinch.

Escobar is trying to trip England. He has hold of a leg but England is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Escobar persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

England has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Escobar is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

England successfully pulls guard.
Escobar wanted to stand there but England had control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Nicolas Escobar will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on Kenton England's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Escobar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. England was covering up waiting for the punch and Escobar finishes the takedown easily into guard.

England is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Escobar presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

England wants to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

England manages to work his way to half guard, despite Escobar's best efforts.

Escobar is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Escobar is trying to control the action in half guard but England is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Nicolas Escobar is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kenton England.
I think Escobar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
