Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Randleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Robert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Quinton Randleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Robert!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robert keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Randleman tries for a takedown but Robert sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Randleman has a takedown stuffed.
Robert doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quinton Randleman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Randleman shoots in but no luck this time.

and Robert holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Randleman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Robert is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Robert lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

With the fighters up against the cage, Robert throws an elbow but misses.

Randleman has Robert pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Robert manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Randleman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Robert can't fight it off and eventually Randleman manages to take the fight to the floor. Robert looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've been hearing that Randleman has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Randleman working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Robert has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Randleman is working away from the top position though.

Randleman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Well, if Randleman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Randleman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Robert with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Quinton Randleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Robert not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Randleman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Robert's coach down at CT + BJJ & Wrestling sparring gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Robert's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Robert escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Randleman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Robert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Randleman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Randleman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Robert quickly recovers to half guard.
Robert wants to control but Randleman is keeping busy.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Randleman lands a nice short elbow.

Randleman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Robert can do anything to dispel that myth.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Quinton Randleman.
I think Randleman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
