Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Markus Bratlie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Cali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bratlie forces Cali back against the cage and clinches.

Bratlie breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cali rushes Bratlie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bratlie misses with an elbow over the top.
Cali tries to circle away but Bratlie has him pinned against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Bratlie effectively controlling the action here.
Bratlie lands a body shot in the clinch.
Cali misses with a punch to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bratlie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cali on his heels. He'll look to pass Cali's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cali misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bratlie shoots in looking for a takedown. Cali tries to sprawl out of it but Bratlie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cali manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cali thuds a left hand into Bratlie's body.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cali tests Bratlie's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bratlie blocks a leg kick.
Bratlie looks to clinch
and Cali counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Cali swings away with a leg kick that misses.
The fighters circle momentarily. Cali darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Cali shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cali just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBratlie.
Markus Bratlie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ali Cali.
Bratlie scores with a nice head shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bratlie throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cali slaps away a takedown attempt from Bratlie, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Cali is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Bratlie with a body shot.
Cali throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Bratlie moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Markus Bratlie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Bratlie closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cali's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bratlie stands and steps away. Cali gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Cali throws a sloppy head kick and Bratlie moves out of range easily.
Cali tries to close the distance and clinch but Bratlie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bratlie is defended easily by Cali.

Cali tries to keep at a distance but Bratlie has taken the fight into the clinch.

You can see the frustration on Cali's face as Bratlie controls the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cali connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bratlie's hands.

Cali goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Bratlie takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bratlie shoots in but Cali avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Cali looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Cali works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Cali scoring well with a low kick there.

Bratlie takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Cali shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bratlie defends it nicely.
Bratlie has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cali.

Bratlie closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cali quickly recovers to half guard.
Bratlie thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cali's head.
Cali tries to get to full guard but Bratlie has control of the leg.
Bratlie is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ali Cali will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Bratlie swats away the attempt to clinch by Cali.

Bratlie drives through and clinches with Cali against the cage.
Cali blocks a body shot from Bratlie.
Cali tries to stall but Bratlie uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Bratlie slows down the pace here.

Cali fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Cali lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bratlie's sensitive parts.
No joy there for Cali, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bratlie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cali as he avoids it easily.

Bratlie rushes Cali and presses him up against the cage.
Cali prevents a takedown attempt there.
Cali tries to pull guard but Bratlie forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Cali's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bratlie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Bratlie misses with a takedown attempt - Cali sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cali cracks a nice hook into Bratlie's ribs.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Cali.
Cali moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Cali looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Bratlie throws a big counter combination but Cali scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Bratlie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cali finds it's way round the side to connect with Bratlie's head.
Cali fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bratlie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bratlie is looking to clinch.
Cali throws a counter combo.
Bratlie goes for a double leg but Cali avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cali continues to drive forward.
Ali Cali seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cali keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cali lands with a cross.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ali Cali comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cali has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
