The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Homes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jamal Lincoln seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lincoln misses with a combination
and Homes counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lincoln!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Homes working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Homes tries to score with some ground and pound. Lincoln controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Homes shoots in looking for a takedown. Lincoln tries to sprawl out of it but Homes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lincoln manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
An attempted straight right counter from Lincoln misses the target.
Lincoln misses with a double jab
and Homes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Homes is pressing down on Lincoln's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lincoln is holding on for now.
Lincoln is looking to improve his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Homes connects with a nice short shot to Lincoln's temple.
