The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Emelianenko takes a step back to recover.

Dawson gets caught flat footed, as Emelianenko shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Emelianenko prevents Dawson from getting back to his feet.
Dawson keeping moving, preventing Emelianenko from controlling successfully.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Emelianenko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dawson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Emelianenko off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Dawson throws a head kick that Emelianenko semi-blocks.

and Dawson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Emelianenko's knee momentarily.
Emelianenko throws out a loose jab but Dawson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Dawson counters with a flying knee that drops Emelianenko! Dawson dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
