Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Macho Randy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taisto Tapper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macho Randy could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Taisto Tapper's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Macho Randy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Taisto Tapper!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Randy has Tapper up against the cage in a clinch.
Tapper dodges an elbow strike from Randy.
Randy lands a left hand.
Randy lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Tapper digs a right hand underneath Randy's ribcage. Randy let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Tapper goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
I was talking to Randy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Tapper will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Randy up against the cage.
Tapper tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Randy misses with an elbow over the top.
A hook to the body from Tapper.
Randy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tapper pulls guard successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Randy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Randy trying to control but Tapper is working from the bottom.

Tapper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Randy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Randy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Tapper not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Randy throws an off balance right hand
and Tapper makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Tapper misses with a wild combination.
Randy lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Taisto Tapper has been cut.

Tapper throws a nice inside leg kick.
Randy lands a nice looking body shot.
Tapper swings away with a body shot that misses
and Randy counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Macho Randy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tapper chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Randy can pounce on him.

Randy bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Tapper! He dives into his guard looking to finish!


Tapper is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Randy thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tapper is still in real trouble! Can Randy finish him?
Randy controls from within his opponent's guard.
Randy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Tapper seems to have recovered his senses.

Randy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Randy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Randy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tapper keeps working.
Tapper is trying to control Randy's posture but Randy avoids it.
Tapper seems a little lost for a moment, as Randy dominates the positioning.

Randy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A control attempt from Tapper but he's now mounted!
Randy wants to control the pace but Tapper is squirming around nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Randy has hold of Tapper's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tapper manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Randy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Randy avoids the attempt from Tapper to control.
Tapper is squirming around, avoiding Randy's attempts to control the action.
Tapper has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Randy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Tapper is on top in guard.
Randy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Macho Randy dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Taisto Tapper's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Randy bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Tapper! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Randy works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Randy wants to control but Tapper is keeping him busy.

Randy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Randy is thwarting Tapper's attempts to control the position.

Randy content to control rather than advance.

Randy is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Randy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Randy seems to be looking for submissions.
Randy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tapper can do to turn this around?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tapper is defending against the submission attempts here by Randy.
Well, if Randy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tapper is trying to control but can't.

Randy is trying to work for a kimura but Tapper is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Randy bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tapper's head.
Tapper throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tapper misses with a double jab.
Randy lands a jab to the nose.
Tapper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As Tapper tries to get set, Randy tries to push him back and clinch up but Tapper manages to avoid the attempt.
Randy connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A jab from Tapper misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Randy looks to score with a jab to the body but Tapper is just out of range.
Randy throws the kick towards the body but Tapper avoids it.
Randy throws a jab but it's blocked by Tapper.
Good exchange - Randy coming out on top.
Tapper gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Randy gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Tapper is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Macho Randy!
Macho Randy decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
