The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonidas throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
We've been informed that Leonidas has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Patterson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Leonidas throws a right hand that misses
enabling Patterson to counter with a crisp jab.
Patterson tries to bum rush Leonidas with a series of wild strikes but Leonidas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Leonidas counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Floyd Patterson has been cut.

Patterson feints and then cracks Leonidas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Leonidas down.

Patterson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Patterson there as he acknowledges the shot.

Leonidas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Leonidas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Patterson sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Patterson controlling the position for now.
Leonidas not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Leonidas is looking for a kimura but Patterson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Leonidas to get the leverage.

Leonidas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Patterson is just riding it out for now. Leonidas eventually gives up the hold.

Leonidas is just content to waste time from the top position. Patterson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Patterson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Leonidas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Patterson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Leonidas, into his guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Leonidas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Leonidas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Patterson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Patterson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Leonidas has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Patterson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Leonidas has tightened it up now! Patterson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Zeus Leonidas bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
