A fine choice. Jone is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by If you smell!. Jack Jone has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Jone!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Better throws a sloppy head kick and Jone moves out of range easily.
Better tries to clinch but Jone is having none of it.
Better throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jone counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A lazy left from Jone finds it's target.
Better swats away the attempt to clinch by Jone.
We've been informed that Jone has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Better takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jone throws a lazy right hand but Better sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Jone swings widly with a right hand
and Jone takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jone throws out a powerful jab.
Better bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Better dives in and scores a takedown into Jone's guard.

Jone is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Better can't find room to land a body shot as Jone controls the action.
Better throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jone blocks it with crossed arms.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Evan Better has been cut.
Jone digs a right hand underneath Better's ribcage. Better let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Better throws a punch but it's blocked by Jone.
Better on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Jone tries to throw a body punch but Better avoids it by throwing Jone back against the cage.
Jone lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Better's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Better with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

That's time! Better's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Better looking to score a takedown here. Jone is defending well but Better drives through and ends up in Jone's guard.
Better trying to control but Jone is working from the bottom.
Better stays in close to Jone's body and controls the position.
Better with a nice head shot there.
Better has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Better wants to control from the top but Jone keeps moving.
Better is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jone is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jone manages to escape and get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jone wants to slow Better down by chopping away at his legs.
Better throws a lazy body kick
and Jone counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jone swings for the body but Better moves out of range.

Better takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Jone feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Better sprawling to the canvas! Better rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jone finish him?!
Oh Better is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jone swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jone throws an overhand right that drops Better like a sack of potatoes! Jone dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Jone!
A relieved looking Jack Jone thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Evan Better spoke after the fight, saying 'Lucky, lucky, lucky.'.
