The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foj gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
McDonnell misses with the head strike.
Foj tried to land a shot to the body but connects with McDonnell's elbow.
McDonnell lands a right hand that snaps the head of Foj backwards.
Foj lands a shot to the body.
Foj swings away with an uppercut that misses.
McDonnell misses with a shot to the kidneys.
McDonnell has a couple of punches blocked by Foj.
McDonnell tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Foj's elbow.
Foj tries to throw a body punch but McDonnell avoids it by throwing Foj back against the ropes.
Foj lands an elbow just above McDonnell 's eye.
Foj throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
McDonnell lands with a short shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McDonnell lands an uppercut.
A nice left hand lands by McDonnell.

McDonnell is working Foj over against the ropes.

Foj swings wildly with an uppercut but McDonnell uses good head movement to avoid it.
Foj pushes off an throws an elbow but McDonnell leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the ropes.

McDonnell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Foj misses with a left hand
and McDonnell counters with a thumping low kick.
McDonnell seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
McDonnell throws a head kick but Foj moves out of range.
Foj tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but McDonnell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McDonnell digs a good body shot into Foj's ribs.
McDonnell blocks a jab.
McDonnell lands with a cross.
McDonnell throws a low kick but Foj moves out of range easily.
Foj throws a looping overhand right but McDonnell ducks down to avoid it.
McDonnell fires out a quick counter leg kick but Foj just manages to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McDonnell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Foj was well out of range. Poor timing from McDonnell.
Foj appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
McDonnell tries to land a front kick but Foj steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
McDonnell misses with a body kick.
McDonnell throws a half hearted mid kick.
Foj now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
McDonnell lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
McDonnell takes a swing at Foj's ribcage but misses.
Foj takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Foj throws a body shot but no joy.
McDonnell circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Foj rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and McDonnell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McDonnell fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Foj on the side of the head.
McDonnell misses with a leg kick
and Foj counters with a nice uppercut.
Foj tries to clinch there but McDonnell circles away.
McDonnell throws a low kick but it's checked well by Foj.
A swing and a miss from McDonnell.
As McDonnell backs off Foj throws a huge counter combo but McDonnell manages to avoid it all.
McDonnell throws a nice head kick!

Foj throws a hook to the side of McDonnell's head but McDonnell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Foj slips under a jab from McDonnell.

Cory McDonnell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Foj has McDonnell up against the ropes in a clinch.

Foj blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A short uppercut from McDonnell.
Foj looks to throw an elbow but misses.
A shot in the inside from McDonnell.

Foj is rocked!
McDonnell works on Foj's body with a couple of short punches.
Foj is still on wobbly legs! Can McDonnell finish him?
McDonnell lands a body shot.
Foj is breathing heavily.

McDonnell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Look low, kick high! McDonnell uses the oldest trick in the book to send Foj tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! McDonnell is absolutely delighted - when Foj wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
