The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been informed that Stevens has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Stevens punishes McStoner's body with a nice straight punch.
Stevens takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Stevens misses with a straight left.
Stevens throws a hook but McStoner blocks it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
McStoner tries a knee to the head but Stevens blocks it.

Stevens throws a shot from downtown. McStoner moves away and avoids it.
A little feinted left hand from McStoner on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
McStoner throws a leg kick that is checked
and Stevens makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Stevens scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Stevens throws a jab when McStoner was well out of range.
McStoner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stevens throws out the jab.
McStoner misses with a hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stevens takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Stevens swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

McStoner staggers Stevens with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Stevens looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

Stevens appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
McStoner throws a right hand that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Stevens slips under a jab.
Stevens throws a big counter head kick but McStoner avoids it with no problem.
McStoner misses the shot to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

McStoner walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and McStoner counters with a stiff right hand.

McStoner drops his hands momentarily and Stevens takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Stevens lands a straight punch to the body, keeping McStoner at a distance.

Duke McStoner will take that round after scoring the only knockdown of the round.

Stevens walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Stevens is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
