PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Doctor Greenthumb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Ash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ash avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Ash closes the distance and clinches.
Come on Ash - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Greenthumb blocks a body shot from Ash.
Greenthumb blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Greenthumb lands a left hand.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ash has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Greenthumb breaks from the clinch.
Ash scores with a body shot.
Ash lands with a cross.
Ash misses the jab.
Greenthumb throwing a counter right hand but Ash manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ash feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Greenthumb is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Ash is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Greenthumb has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ash is looking to defend but Greenthumb has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ash! Greenthumb pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ash taps out and this one is all over!
