Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Greg Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forrest Gump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gump has chosen INTERNATIONALE as his entrance music. Forrest Gump has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Forrest Gump!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gump is looking to clinch but Ward is avoiding it.
Ward throws a big shot that misses.
Ward has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Ward blocks a head kick by Gump.

Gump has Ward up against the cage in a clinch.
Gump lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Gump fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Ward swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gump jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ward walks away with a smile on his face. Gump gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ward.
Gump lands a glancing blow to the side of Ward's head.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Ward waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gump.

Gump drives through and clinches with Ward against the cage.
Ward misses with a hook to the ribs.

Gump jumps guard.
Ward trying to control but Gump is working from the bottom.

Gump is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ward is aware though and is defending well.

Gump is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Ward distracts Gump with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Ward trying to control but Gump is working from the bottom.
Ward is stalling in the full guard.

Gump is looking for a triangle but Ward pushes his legs off easily.
Ward trying to control the position from guard on top but Gump is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ward passes Gump's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gump is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ward seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gump does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ward is taking a breather. Gump says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Ward wants to control but Gump is keeping him busy.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Well, if Ward is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close round but I would say that Greg Ward will probably get the nod.

Ward stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gump swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ward, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
