Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe McClane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akiro Sata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sata has chosen Onward to Victory! as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe McClane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 25 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akiro Sata!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sata tries to clinch there but McClane circles away.
Sata throws a hook but McClane avoids it easily.
Sata lands a slapping body shot.
McClane with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Sata throws a good cross that connects.
Sata misses with a double jab.
McClane rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Sata cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sata misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sata keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McClane misses with a body kick.
Sata throws a shot to the body.
Sata checks a leg kick nicely.
McClane staying out of range there.

Sata shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McClane is trying to defend but Sata finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sata thows a huge punch but McClane dodges it nicely.
Sata has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

McClane is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sata's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sata's back!

McClane stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Akiro Sata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sata throws a shot from downtown. McClane moves away and avoids it.
Sata ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McClane moves away.
McClane tries a head kick but it misses.
McClane will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sata throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
McClane throws a body punch but Sata moves out of range.
McClane just misses with a punch to the body.
A nice side step and Sata releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Sata moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Sata dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Joe McClane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

McClane throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Sata avoids the head kick by McClane.

McClane digs a good body shot into Sata's ribs.
McClane misses with a low kick.
McClane is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
McClane has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sata finds it's way round the side to connect with McClane's head.
Sata tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sata on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McClane. McClane obviously looking to wear him down.
Sata throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McClane fires out a quick counter leg kick but Sata just manages to avoid it.
McClane throws a push kick but Sata slaps the foot to one side.
Sata avoids the body shot from McClane.
McClane misses with a body shot.
Sata blocks a jab.
Sata connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Sata's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McClane connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Sata scrambles back to his feet.
Sata ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Sata closes the distance and clinches.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, McClane creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Sata's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Sata closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sata tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sata has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McClane gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sata slips a nice elbow through McClane's hands, connecting with McClane's forehead.
McClane manages to get to full guard.
McClane controls Sata momentarily but Sata frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Akiro Sata will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sata throws a sloppy body shot
and McClane counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Sata throws an overhand right that lands on McClane's shoulder, as McClane tries to avoid the shot.
Sata fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McClane lands a nice looking body shot.
McClane tries a low kick but Sata avoids it.
Sata scores with a jab to the body.
Sata has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
McClane uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sata.
Sata scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
McClane walks into a straight right hand from Sata.
Sata misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A quick step to the side and McClane tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sata throws a series of punches but McClane moves out of range.
Akiro Sata seems to be getting the better of the standup.
McClane connects with a looping right hand.
McClane is looking to wear down Sata with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A looping hook to the body misses from Sata. McClane does a little dance to reset his feet.
McClane looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Sata swings for the body but McClane moves out of range.
Sata connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

McClane misses with a low kick.
Sata avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McClane misses with a body punch
and Sata counters with a left and a right that stings McClane.
McClane throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McClane lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sata has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sata and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

McClane throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sata stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
McClane throws a leg kick which misses Sata's front leg but catches the back leg as Sata tries to avoid it.
Sata tries to clinch but McClane is having none of it.
Sata cracks McClane with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
McClane has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sata.
Sata jabs McClane right on the nose. McClane blinks but takes it well.
Sata throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McClane half committed to a counter leg kick.

McClane went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sata swings and misses with a hook to the body.

McClane slips a jab and a cross from Sata.
Sata ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McClane moves away.
Sata ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McClane moves away.
McClane does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Sata scores with a sloppy right hand. McClane should have avoided that one.
McClane fakes the leg kick and cracks Sata in the body.
Sata looks to land a right hand but McClane moved out of range.
Sata misses with a hook
and McClane counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
McClane needs to keep his hands up - Sata had a free shot at his head there.
A punch lands to the side of Sata 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sata tries to clinch up but McClane circles away and keeps his distance.
McClane fires out a quick counter leg kick but Sata just manages to avoid it.

Sata uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McClane.

McClane throws a sloppy head kick and Sata moves out of range easily.
Sata lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
McClane fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sata looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Sata tries to close the distance and clinch up but McClane swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McClane pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sata is out of range and McClane settles back down.
Sata throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McClane on the side of the head.

and McClane counters with a head kick. That will keep Sata thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
McClane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Sata counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Sata feints and as McClane raises his hands in defense, Sata changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McClane has his foot on Sata's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sata works his way back into a safe position though.
Sata is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

McClane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sata defends well.
McClane keeping moving, preventing Sata from controlling successfully.
Akiro Sata has got the better of the ground game so far.

Sata stands up over McClane, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sata keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McClane's head.

Akiro Sata showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


McClane throws a leg kick but Sata moved away.
Sata wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sata ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Sata pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces McClane back to the cage. Sata follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Sata tries to close the distance and clinch but McClane swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sata smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Sata has a takedown stuffed.

Sata is looking to take a break and control but McClane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McClane looks like he's trying to stand up.

Sata is pressing down on McClane's thigh, looking to free his foot. McClane is holding on for now.
McClane is looking for a sweep. Sata is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sata cracks McClane with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
McClane gets back to half guard.
McClane seems to have got his legs back now.

Sata keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Sata is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McClane doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sata.
Sata seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McClane does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Akiro Sata is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
McClane misses with some strikes from the bottom.
McClane tries to get to full guard but Sata has control of the leg.
Sata wants to lay and pray for a moment but McClane keeps working.

And that's the end of the fight!
Akiro Sata comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sata has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
