Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roscoe Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dredd Judge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dredd Judge looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dredd Judge!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Judge.
Rios fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rios fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Judge avoids it really well and circles away.

and Judge counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Judge.

Judge walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rios lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Judge backs up against the cage.
Judge is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rios sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rios shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Judge as he jumps to the side.
A lazy left from Rios finds it's target.
Rios tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Judge takes the fight into the clinch.

Rios breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Judge misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rios leaves Judge with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Judge has Rios up against the cage in a clinch.

Judge breaks from the clinch.

Judge shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rios's guard.
Rios is wriggling around but Judge manages to pass to half guard.

Rios is concentrating on defense, preventing Judge from advancing position.
Judge is thwarting Rios's attempts to control the position.
Rios knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Judge on the ground.
Rios is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Judge's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Judge's back!

What can Judge do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Rios throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Judge's waist but Judge gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rios off to one side.
Judge is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Rios closes the distance and clinches up with Judge, looking for a takedown. Rios pushes Judge against the cage but Judge circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Judge tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Judge throws a lazy right hand but Rios sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Rios takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Judge makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Judge.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Judge is on top in guard.

Judge is breathing heavily.
Judge is fighting to break Rios's control of his arms but Rios is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Judge controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Rios wants to sweep but no luck.
Judge looking to sit in guard and control but Rios gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Judge seems keen to control Rios's posture.
Judge is looking to stand up but Rios isn't so interested in that idea.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rios looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Judge is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Judge jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rios walks away with a smile on his face. Judge gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Roscoe Rios has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dredd Judge.
Judge shoots in but Rios avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rios will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rios goes for a double leg but Judge avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Judge continues to drive forward.
Despite the aggression on Judge's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Judge tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rios throws a big counter combination but Judge scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Rios drives through with a takedown into Judge's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rios is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Judge trying to keep a closed guard but Rios is proving a slippery customer.
Rios has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Judge walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Rios checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rios, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
