Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Vale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Van Gogh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vale's entrance music is Motorhead-Iron Fist . A fine choice. Van Gogh has chosen Outro - By: M83 as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Vale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Pierre Van Gogh!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Gogh lands with a right hand.


It looks like Simon Vale has been cut.
Vale misses with a wild combination.
Vale punishes Van Gogh's body with a nice straight punch.
Van Gogh shoots for a takedown but Vale saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Vale displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Van Gogh.
Vale lands with an overhand left.
Pierre Van Gogh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vale looks to throw the jab but Van Gogh is out of range.
Vale has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Factory in the buildup to the fight.
Van Gogh swings widly with a right hand
and Vale connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vale throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Van Gogh lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Vale lands a right hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Vale closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Van Gogh wants to control but Vale is keeping busy.
Van Gogh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Vale winds up and cracks Van Gogh with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Van Gogh moves into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vale throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Vale trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Gogh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Vale has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Vale cracks Van Gogh with a solid left hand.
Van Gogh has momentary wrist control but Vale slips an elbow through the middle.

Vale lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Van Gogh tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Van Gogh is trying to keep Vale in close.
Vale chips away with some ground and pound.
Vale distracts Van Gogh with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Vale has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Van Gogh to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Vale is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Van Gogh pulls down on the head and he's put Vale to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Pierre Van Gogh!
Pierre Van Gogh decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
