Toriyama has chosen Three 6 Mafia - It's a Fight as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toriyama avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Karlo jabs at Toriyama's body.
Karlo throws a body shot but no joy.
Toriyama misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Toriyama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Karlo connects with a good right hand that stumbles Toriyama. Toriyama circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Mario Karlo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Karlo darts in looking for a takedown but Toriyama gets double underhooks and turns Karlo into the cage.

Toriyama fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Karlo.

Toriyama seems to have recovered his senses.
Karlo looks to land a left hand but Toriyama moved out of range nicely.

Karlo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Toriyama can pounce on him.

Karlo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Toriyama was covering up waiting for the punch and Karlo finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Toriyama is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Karlo frees his head nicely. Oh but Toriyama has switched to an armbar! Karlo is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
