Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouellette looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Ouellette shoots in and gets a takedown into Lowe's guard.
Ouellette must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lowe wants to get back to his feet but Ouellette is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Ouellette is looking to stand up but Lowe won't let him.
Ouellette slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Ouellette really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lowe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lowe is looking to stand up but Ouellette isn't so interested in that idea.
Lowe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ouellette is looking to work some ground and pound but Lowe has wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Ouellette throws the kick towards the body but Lowe avoids it.
Lowe tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Ouellette manages to circle out of the way.

Ouellette feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lowe is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Ouellette presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Lowe tries to pull guard but Ouellette holds him up against the cage and eventually Lowe drops back down to his feet.
Lowe is trying to drag Ouellette to the mat but Ouellette just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Ouellette shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ouellette was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ouellette thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ouellette wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lowe, who protects the arm well.

Ouellette wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lowe keeps working.

Ouellette stands up and beckons Lowe to his feet.
Ronny Ouellette seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ouellette stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ouellette wants it to stay on the feet.
Lowe dives in and grabs Ouellette's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ouellette pushes down on Lowe's head and hops out.
Lowe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ouellette paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ouellette is standing up over Lowe. Lowe looks to escape but Ouellette dives into side control.
Lowe is breathing heavily.

Ouellette stands up and beckons Lowe to his feet.

and Ouellette counters with a series of strikes. Lowe will be more careful next time no doubt.
Lowe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ouellette moves into the clinch.

Lowe is looking to work some ground and pound but Ouellette has wrist control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ouellette can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lowe won't allow Ouellette to sweep him here.

Lowe is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
