Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Groenveld (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abioye Nazari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nazari has chosen Do You Call My Name by Ra as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Stefan Groenveld has been attacked by a crazed fan! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Groenveld feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Nazari s jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nazari has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nazari takes a swing at Groenveld's ribcage but misses.
Nazari uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Groenveld.
Groenveld connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Nazari lands with a good body shot.
Groenveld's corner calls for a 1-2. Groenveld obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Groenveld ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nazari moves away.
Nazari throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Groenveld.

Groenveld is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Nazari throws a leg kick but Groenveld sees it coming and moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Groenveld cracks Nazari with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Nazari tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Groenveld pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Nazari is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
