PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kostya Tszyu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aloysius Wiremu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiremu has chosen Billy Joel - The River of Dreams as his entrance music. Aloysius Wiremu told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aloysius Wiremu!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiremu tries to clinch up.

Wiremu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tszyu.

Aloysius Wiremu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've been informed that Wiremu has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Tszyu throws a hook to the side of Wiremu's head but Wiremu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Tszyu throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Wiremu counters with a stiff right hand.
Tszyu comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Wiremu misses with a few strikes there.
Tszyu works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Wiremu covers up and Tszyu unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
