Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grossman shoots in for a takedown but Mattews shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mattews! But no joy.
Grossman has a takedown stuffed.

and Mattews counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Grossman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mattews throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Mattews is working Grossman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Grossman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mattews gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Grossman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mattews defends it easily.

Grossman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mattews defends well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Grossman is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Grossman has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mattews doesn't defend quickly enough and Grossman has managed to lock this one up! Can Mattews escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Grossman on a fantastic submission victory.

In his post fight interview, David Grossman started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
